Penguin Student Design Awards Brief: Adult Non-Fiction Cover Award, The Uninhabitable Earth: A Story of the Future by David Wallace-Wells
The Uninhabitable habitable Earth is a book that looks at the dangers and consequences of global warming if we continue to do nothing. The brief was to create a cover design for The Uninhabitable Earth that reflects the themes and messages of the book in a clear and engaging way and appeal to the broadest possible audience.
The book has a beautiful image of the earth that will be distorted by the warning labels, there’s multiple different labels meaning that each book could have a unique mix of stickers. This was done to show off some of the themes of the book mainly the idea that this book is a harsh warning of how our actions will distort and destroy the planet in a clear and interesting way.
